HFSA Annual Meeting Is Cancelled as Hurricane Helene Approaches Atlanta
September 25, 2024—The Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) announced the cancellation of its annual scientific meeting, which was scheduled for September 27-30 in Atlanta, Georgia. The decision to cancel the meeting came after the declaration of a State of Emergency by the Governor of Georgia in anticipation of Hurricane Helene.
In an emergency meeting of the HFSA Board of Directors, the board decided to cancel the HFSA annual scientific meeting and the HFSA Devices in Heart Failure meeting.

The HFSA stated, “The safety of our attendees, staff, exhibitors—as well as the employees who staff the hotel and Georgia World Congress Center—is our top priority, and we believe this is the most responsible course of action. We kindly ask for your patience as we navigate this unexpected situation. We understand the inconvenience this will cause and will keep you updated on our progress as soon as we have more concrete information to share about the consequences of our decision.”
