Cordis Initiates SELUTION Global Coronary Registry
May 19, 2025—Cordis announced the initiation of the SELUTION Global Coronary Registry. According to the company, the prospective study will enroll up to 10,000 patients worldwide to track real-world outcomes of Selution SLR, a sirolimus drug-eluting balloon (DEB) with sustained limus release (SLR), for up to 5 years.
Cordis stated that the findings will complement the results from the five ongoing level-1 randomized trials of the Selution SLR DEB, which is commercially available in more than 40 countries.
“DEBs are one of the most interesting and exciting new technologies in the coronary interventional space,” commented Ajay J. Kirtane, MD, in the Cordis press release. “The creation and initiation of this large real-world registry examining DEB utilization and the practice of percutaneous coronary intervention with this technology is a welcome development, which will help clinicians better understand where Selution SLR DEB can deliver the greatest benefits and improved outcomes in their practice.”
Dr. Kirtane, who serves as chairman of the SELUTION Global Coronary Registry steering committee, is Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Director of the Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care Program in New York, New York.
Cordis also announced the members of the SELUTION Global Coronary Registry steering committee.
