AHA Moves 2021 Scientific Sessions to All-Virtual Format

September 16, 2021—The American Heart Association (AHA) announced that the 2021 AHA Scientific Sessions, the Resuscitation Science Symposium, and the Quality of Care and Outcomes Research Scientific Sessions, formerly planned as a hybrid event, will now be fully virtual experiences held Saturday, November 13 through Monday, November 15.

According to AHA, the decision to shift to an interactive virtual event from the previously planned, blended in-person and online experience, is a consequence of the continuing surge of the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus requiring many health care professionals to attend to patient needs in their community.

The AHA Board of Directors and the Committee on Scientific Sessions advised that this approach will help ensure the health and safety of attendees by reducing associated travel and multiday large public gatherings. Additionally, the virtual format may improve the access and reach of the event to international attendees who may not presently be able to attend in person.

Registration is now open and updates will be posted at ScientificSessions.org. Frequently Asked Questions regarding these changes are addressed by AHA here.
