Merit Medical Systems, Inc. (South Jordan, UT) announced the MIV Radial Ventriculogram Catheter, designed specifically for radial access. The catheter is angled toward the left cusp from the radial approach to facilitate easier insertion into the ventricle for faster access and decreased catheter manipulation, which can lead to reduced fluoroscopy and procedure time.

BioMatrix NeoFlex (Biosensors International, Singapore) is the latest addition to the BioMatrix family of drug-eluting stents, featuring a new stent-delivery system for improved pushability, trackability, and crossability. It also has a lower lesion-entry profile than its predecessor, BioMatrix Flex. Designed for improved deliverability, NeoFlex is equipped with the same combination of abluminal biodegradable polymer coating, proprietary limus drug (Biolimus A9), and flexible platform as Flex.

Results from the final 5-year data from the LEADERS trial, presented at TCT 2012, demonstrated that Flex significantly reduced the risk of clinical events in the very late phase, and showed a significant reduction in very late stent thrombosis compared with Cypher Select (Cordis Corporation, Bridgewater, NJ).
