Unfors' Radiation Dosimeter Added to Toshiba Infinix-I Cardiovascular X-Ray System

July 22, 2013—Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. (Tustin, CA) announced that the company has partnered with Unfors RaySafe, Inc. (Hopkinton, MA) to offer a new dose monitoring and management tool for Toshiba's Infinix-i cardiovascular x-ray systems.

According to Toshiba, the Unfors RaySafe i2 system displays real-time dose exposure information, helping to make exams safer for all clinical staff, which will improve clinical staff safety during interventional procedures and help monitor radiation dose.

The RaySafe i2 device is assigned to each member of an interventional team. The digital, real-time dosimeter is wirelessly connected to an in-room, mounted screen displaying radiation exposure levels for the staff to view during procedures, and it archives dose exposure history for future analysis.

Toshiba America Medical Systems is a subsidiary of Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation (Tokyo, Japan). Unfors RaySafe, Inc, is a subsidiary of the Swedish technology company Unfors RaySafe AB (Billdal, Sweden).
