TriReme's Glider PTCA Catheter Approved in Japan

April 22, 2013—TriReme Medical, Inc. (Pleasanton, CA) announced that its Japanese partner, Century Medical, Inc. (Tokyo, Japan), has received Shonin regulatory approval for the Glider percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) catheter. The device is indicated for treating stenotic portions of coronary arteries or bypass grafts to improve myocardial perfusion. Glider is a torqueable PTCA catheter that combines a skived tip and a braided shaft. It is designed to assist physicians in treating the most challenging cases, such as bifurcations and highly stenosed lesions, stated the company's press release.
