The PERT Consortium Launches Pilot Program for Regional and Comprehensive PE Centers of Excellence

April 26, 2024—The PERT Consortium, a multidisciplinary, global, nonprofit organization dedicated to the care of pulmonary embolism (PE) patients, announced the launch of its Regional and Comprehensive PE Centers of Excellence pilot program.

According to The PERT Consortium, this initiative, which began in early 2023, underscores its commitment to elevating standards of care and improving outcomes for patients with PE.

The press release stated that the Regional and Comprehensive PE Centers of Excellence Pilot Program will recognize and support health care institutions that perform exceptionally well in diagnosing, treating, and managing PE. Throughout the application process, the selected pilot sites will receive specialized assessments and feedback, access to cutting-edge research, and opportunities for collaboration with leading experts in the field.

The PERT Consortium noted that fostering these collaborations will enhance the quality of care for patients with PE and allied conditions and significantly contribute to the broader medical community, reshaping how PE is managed worldwide.

The PERT Consortium remarked in its press release, “The PERT Consortium, the driving force behind the first PE Centers of Excellence, remains steadfast in its commitment to expanding its network of Regional and Comprehensive Centers of Excellence following the pilot program. This expansion is a testament to our unwavering mission to provide unparalleled care to individuals with PE and our dedication to supporting health care institutions in achieving excellence in PE management.”
