Philips Launches IntraSight Mobile Imaging System and Nexcimer Laser System

November 2, 2021— Royal Philips announced the North American debut of new coronary and peripheral artery applications, including the IntraSight Mobile system and the Nexcimer laser system. The company will showcase these technologies and offer presentations at TCT 2021, the annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics annual meeting held November 4-6 in Orlando, Florida.

According to the company, IntraSight Mobile, Philips’ interventional applications platform is now available in North America. IntraSight Mobile brings together imaging and physiology applications on a mobile system for coronary and peripheral artery disease therapy. The IntraSight platform allows interventionalists to perform intravascular ultrasound imaging and physiologic measurements of fractional flow reserve and instantaneous wave-free ratio to accurately identify the location of lesions causing ischemia.

IntraSight Mobile builds on the Philips IntraSight technology, which integrates intravascular diagnostic applications into a smart, simple, and seamless workflow solution for interventional labs. IntraSight Mobile is compatible with Philips’ current and future portfolio of imaging and physiology modalities. Clinicians can customize the platform and select tools for coronary or peripheral vascular patients.

Also, Philips’ Nexcimer laser system is now available for peripheral and coronary atherectomy and lead extraction procedures. Smaller, lighter, and more maneuverable than the previous-generation device, the system uses standard medical-grade 100 to 240 V outlets and has an intuitive touchscreen interface with guided workflow prompts that help lessen the need for technician training. It is compatible with catheters with level I clinical data for in-stent restenosis (ISR) atherectomy and that can also support lead extraction procedures.

Also at TCT 2021, the company introduced AngioSculpt Evo, the newly designed Philips scoring balloon catheter RX, for treatment of coronary artery stenosis, including ISR.
