Idev Introduces SurePath Guidewires

June 8, 2012—Idev Technologies, Inc. (Webster, TX) announced the United States launch of its SurePath line of interventional guidewires in the United States for use in peripheral and coronary procedures. The SurePath guidewires will be introduced at the New Cardiovascular Horizons annual meeting in New Orleans on June 6–9, 2012.

Idev stated that the company's alloy, which is used in the SurePath guidewires, makes them stronger than standard nitinol wires and more flexible than standard stainless steel wires while providing kink resistance, pushability, and steerability. In Idev's press release, Matthew Selmon, MD, from Austin Heart in Austin, Texas commented, “The shapeable tip holds well, and the torque was excellent. The wire works well as an everyday workhorse guidewire.”
