GE HealthCare Introduces Next-Generation Vivid Cardiovascular Ultrasound Portfolio

September 17, 2026—GE HealthCare announced three additions to its Vivid cardiovascular ultrasound portfolio: Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced, and Vivid Focus. Each is designed to address distinct imaging and workflow needs across a range of cardiology care settings. The company introduced the systems at ESC 2026, the European Society of Cardiology congress in Munich, Germany.

According to GE HealthCare, the new systems join its Vivid Pioneer system, broadening the portfolio and bringing Vivid’s image quality, workflow, and familiar user interface to further support settings for cardiovascular care.

The Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced, and Vivid Focus as well as the company’s EchoPAC Software Only v211 have received CE Mark approval in Europe. In the United States, FDA 510(k) clearance is pending for all four products, advised the company.

As outlined in the company’s press release, the Vivid family now includes four systems built on a common technology foundation, with each system designed for different needs across cardiovascular care:

• Vivid Pioneer is GE HealthCare’s ultra-premium cardiovascular ultrasound system for the most complex cases. In August 2025, the company announced the launch of Vivid Pioneer.
• Vivid Explorer is designed for high-volume echo labs and routine interventional procedures, with advanced four-dimensional, multiplane, and two-dimensional (2D) imaging across transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and intracardiac echocardiography (ICE), along with artificial intelligence (AI) and automation capabilities supporting advanced cardiac workflows.
• Vivid Advanced is designed for busy midsize hospitals and cardiology practices that need comprehensive cardiac imaging—including 2D TTE, multiplane TEE, and 2D ICE—together with vascular, abdominal, and soft-tissue imaging.
• Vivid Focus brings the company’s cSound imaging technology to a system designed for everyday cardiac imaging, along with the new 4Sc-RS probe, AI-enabled workflow tools, and support for vascular, abdominal and soft-tissue exams.

Additionally, the company stated that its Vivid iq, a laptop-sized ultrasound system, is designed for performance and portability that combines imaging capabilities with flexibility. It is equipped with a range of imaging capabilities and quantification tools for cardiovascular, abdominal, and musculoskeletal exams.

Finally, the latest version of EchoPAC Software Only v211 is a cardiovascular ultrasound analysis and reporting platform that enables clinicians to review, analyze, and quantify studies on site or remotely using consistent tools and workflows across image acquisition, analysis, and reporting, stated GE HealthCare.
