CSI San Francisco Conference Offers Fellows Scholarship Program

September 16, 2019—CSI San Francisco, a branch of the CSI Frankfurt conference, is offering a fellows scholarship program to support attendance at this year's conference to be held November 1–2 at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco in Union Square, San Francisco, California. The conference will focus on catheter interventions for congenital, structural, and valvar heart disease, as well as atrial fibrillation and heart failure.

A limited number of full and partial scholarships for participating fellows are available (with complimentary registration and/or complimentary room reservation for Friday night and/or a stipend toward flight costs). The application deadline is Friday, September 20. More information is available online here. CSI San Francisco congress attendees will be accredited continuing medical education points.

CSI is partnering with the University of California, San Francisco for the meeting to give attendees a comprehensive overview of major topics in catheter and device therapy for structural and valvular heart disease, in addition to novel therapies for atrial fibrillation and heart failure. There will also be sessions on catheter therapy for congenital heart disease in adults and innovation.

The congress is designed for interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, electrophysiology (EP) specialists, imaging specialists, nurses, technicians, and any other medical specialty involved in these procedures. A 50% discount is available for nurses, technicians, and associations.

Focusing on innovation, the conference also welcomes device companies, engineers, start-ups and venture capitalists.

The fellows and new users track is designed for general cardiology fellows, interventional and EP fellows, and new users and will integrate basic anatomy, imaging, and procedural techniques needed by structural heart interventionalists and cardiac EP physicians. Course attendees are encouraged to participate in the featured workshops and scientific sessions.

The 2-day program includes lectures from leading experts in the field, case-based debates, interactive discussion rounds, step-by-step case presentations with panel discussions and recorded cases, a review of ongoing and future studies, and training sessions.

CSI San Francisco highlights include a keynote TED Talk by Marty Leon, MD; plenary sessions dedicated to hot topics in the field; a hands-on porcine heart dissection workshop; discussions of challenging cases by leading interventionists; a Shark Tank session dedicated to device development featuring leading innovators; and major industry partners participating in the CSI exhibition.
