Cook Medical Launches iMRI Division

July 28, 2025—Cook Medical announced the launch of its Interventional MRI (iMRI) division, which will collaborate with physicians, hospitals, and strategic partners to integrate real-time MRI that empowers clinicians to visualize anatomy and instruments simultaneously, without the risks associated with ionizing radiation.

Cook Medical stated it is developing a portfolio of minimally invasive devices that—unlike conventional tools repurposed for MRI use—have been purposefully engineered during years of research and refinement to meet the unique demands of iMRI environments. The devices will especially be developed for pediatrics, oncology, and pediatric structural heart interventions.

The company further noted that the new division seeks to help transform how clinicians diagnose, intervene, and care for patients. The iMRI division will partner with premier companies to create state-of-the-art imaging technology to empower clinicians with the tools they need for improved outcomes, stated Cook Medical.

Peter Polverini has been appointed Vice President of the new division. Polverini brings more than 20 years of experience in advancing medical technology and fostering health care partnerships, noted the company.
