ConcertAI TeraRecon Adds FEops HeartGuide for Planning LAA Occlusion Procedures

October 16, 2023—ConcertAI’s TeraRecon, a visualization and clinical artificial intelligence (AI) software-as-a-service company, recently announced the addition of FEops HeartGuide as a clinical AI solution to support structural heart planning procedures for left atrial appendage (LAA) occlusion.

With the United States introduction for the LAA occlusion workflow, HeartGuide enables physicians to virtually model different implant positions and sizes of FDA-approved LAA devices, thereby aiding physicians in the selection of the optimal size and position for a specific patient.

According to the ConcertAI press release, clinical evidence from the randomized controlled PREDICT-LAA trial has shown that FEops’ digital twin-based planning for LAA closure results in improved procedure efficiency and outcomes as compared to standard CT-based planning.

In July 2023, FEops announced the release of the HeartGuide cloud-based procedure planning solution with its AI-based anatomic analysis of multislice CT images for the preoperative planning of structural heart interventions.

FEops HeartGuide is available in the United States for use in LAA occlusion procedures with the Amplatzer Amulet device (Abbott) and the Watchman and Watchman FLX devices (Boston Scientific Corporation). HeartGuide is available in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, HeartGuide is available for use in transcatheter aortic valve replacement and LAA occlusion procedures.
