Boston Scientific to Collaborate With Philips and Siemens on Imaging Technology

May 24, 2010—Boston Scientific Corporation (Natick, MA) announced collaborations with Philips Medical Systems (Bothell, WA) and Siemens Healthcare (Malvern, PA) to enable the use of its iLab intravascular ultrasound imaging system with the Philips Allura Xper and the Siemens Axiom Artis and Artis zee interventional x-ray systems. Boston Scientific stated that its iLab system is designed to be installed directly into a cardiac catheterization laboratory or radiology suite alongside these x-ray systems, enabling physicians to more readily incorporate intravascular ultrasound technology into their procedures.

According to the company, Boston Scientific's collaborations with Philips and Siemens include recently completed compatibility testing, which confirmed that the iLab technology can function as an integrated system with the Philips and Siemens x-ray devices. Boston Scientific previously announced a similar collaboration with GE Healthcare (Wauwatosa, WI) and its Innova system.
