B. Braun's SeQuent Neo NC Balloon Catheter Approved in Europe
July 10, 2018—B. Braun Melsungen AG has received European CE Mark approval for the SeQuent Neo NC, the company's latest-generation noncompliant percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) balloon catheter for treating the most challenging lesion morphologies. The SeQuent Neo NC is available in Europe and other countries recognizing the CE Mark.
According to the company, the device features balloon diameters ranging in size from 2 to 4.5 mm, balloon lengths from 8 to 30 mm, shaft diameters of 1.9 F proximal and 2.7 F distal, and a catheter working length of 140 cm. The balloon material is designed for exact sizing under high pressure without uncontrolled radial or longitudinal growth. The balloon catheter is optimal for highly calcified lesions as well as high-pressure postdilatation of stents. The hydrophilic shaft coating on SeQuent Neo NC provides gliding properties and facilitates procedures, even in challenging anatomies.
