AvoMD Partners With SCCT to Bring CAD-RADS 2.0 to the Point of Care With Software Platform

August 1, 2022—AvoMD, a next-generation application-based clinical decision support platform, recently announced it has partnered with the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) to translate SCCT guidelines into actionable, instant guidance at the point of care. With support from Siemens Healthineers, the partnership will begin with the 2022 Coronary Artery Disease—Reporting and Data System (CAD-RADS 2.0).

On July 7, 2022, SCCT announced the release of the new CAD-RADS 2.0 expert consensus document that was issued in collaboration with the American College of Cardiology, American College of Radiology, and North America Society for Cardiovascular Imaging.

The new CAD-RADS 2.0 expands on the first version, which was created in 2016 to standardize a reporting system for patients undergoing coronary CTA and guide possible next steps in patient management.

According to AvoMD, its no-code software platform transforms clinical content—guidelines, algorithms, pathways, and checklists—into “virtual clinical consults” available instantly at the point of care on standalone web/mobile apps and in electronic health records (EHRs).

The cloud-based solution will be accessible free of charge via websites, mobile apps, and in EHRs. The solution is intended to support and strengthen the ability of cardiologists and general physicians to provide critical services to patients of all ages. Provider organizations will have the ability to use AvoMD’s no-code content management tool to customize the offering for local needs.

Joanne Olson, CEO of SCCT, commented in the press release, “SCCT is excited about the potential that a partnership with AvoMD provides. Making SCCT guidelines and expert consensus documents like CAD-RADS 2.0 instantly accessible in this way will help physicians administer higher-quality care to their patients.”

AvoMD Cofounder and CEO Yair Saperstein, MD, added, “We are thrilled to partner with the SCCT, the authority on cardiovascular CT imaging. Combining the SCCT’s clinical expertise with AvoMD’s decision support technology furthers our shared mission of equipping clinicians with the tools and expertise to provide high-quality, evidence-based care. We are excited to provide this offering to our growing base of health system customers and clinician users.”
