Alvimedica’s Fluydo NC Balloon Catheter Receives CE Mark Approval

March 29, 2021—Alvimedica announced it has received CE Mark approval of the company’s Fluydo NC noncompliant balloon catheter for percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty. The device is designed to cross and effectively dilate the hardest lesions located in the most difficult and challenging coronary lesions.

Alvimedica’s Fluydo NC balloon catheter is available in a wide size matrix, with diameters ranging from 1.75 to 5 mm and lengths from 6 to 30 mm. The device can be used for predilatations and postdilatations of tight and highly calcified lesions, like those of diabetic patients. It is 6-F guiding catheter–compatible for kissing balloon procedures with the entire range of available sizes.

According to the company, the Fluydo NC device is a coronary high-pressure balloon catheter that merges noncompliant dilatation features with superb crossability. Fluydo NC is composed of a high-rated burst pressure (up to 22 atm) with a very low crossing profile and excellent crossability performance.
