ACC/AHA Seek Comments on Clinical Performance and Quality Measures Draft for Valvular and Structural Disease
April 12, 2023—The American College of Cardiology (ACC) and American Heart Association (AHA) are inviting members to participate in a review of the 2024 ACC/AHA Clinical Performance and Quality Measures for Adults With Valvular and Structural Heart Disease draft.
The document is a report of the AHA/ACC Joint Committee on Performance Measures, which was developed in collaboration with the American Association for Thoracic Surgery and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. It is endorsed by the American Society of Echocardiography and the Heart Rhythm Society. The writing committee is led by Chair Hani Jneid, MD, and Vice Chair Joanna Chikwe, MD.
According to the societies’ notification, the document aims to present new measures to evaluate the care of patients in accordance with the 2020 ACC/AHA Valvular Heart Disease Guideline. which was published in December 2020. Additionally, the document helps accomplish the ACC and AHA mission of fostering optimal cardiovascular care and disease prevention and AHA’s mission of promoting longer healthier lives.
The public comment period is April 12 to May 12, 2023. The survey can be accessed online here.
