Abbott’s Navitor Vision TAVI/TAVR Device Introduced in United Kingdom and Ireland
July 25, 2024—Abbott announced the introduction of the Navitor Vision in the United Kingdom and Ireland for the treatment of patients with severe aortic stenosis who are at high or extreme surgical risk for open heart surgery. The device is the latest iteration of the company’s Navitor transcatheter aortic valve implantation/replacement (TAVI/TAVR) system.
According to Abbott, the Navitor Vision was designed with three radiopaque markers to enhance visualization of the valve deployment during a TAVI/TAVR procedure to help interventionists implant the device more precisely and at the intended depth.
The Navitor Vision valve is offered in a range of sizes to treat native annulus diameters from 19 mm to 30 mm. The device features a sealing cuff that actively synchronizes to the patient’s cardiac cycle and seals against challenging anatomies, stated the company.
