Abbott to Acquire Cephea Valve Technologies

January 16, 2019—Abbott announced that it has exercised its option to purchase Cephea Valve Technologies, Inc., a privately held medical device company developing a less invasive transfemoral mitral valve replacement technology for patients with mitral valve disease. Financial terms were not disclosed. In 2015, Abbott provided capital and secured an option to purchase Cephea.
