4C Medical Closes Series D Financing Led by Boston Scientific
March 5, 2025—4C Medical Technologies, Inc. announced the closing of a Series D preferred stock financing round, which resulted in gross proceeds of up to $175 million.
The company stated that the financing will be used to accelerate the clinical development and commercialization of the AltaValve system, 4C’s next-generation transcatheter mitral valve replacement technology.
The financing was led by Boston Scientific Corporation with participation from new and existing shareholders, advised the company.
According to 4C, the proceeds from this financing will primarily be used to support the company’s ongoing ATLAS global pivotal trial of the AltaValve system in the United States and Europe. In October 2024, the company announced it commenced enrollment in the trial in the United States.
As summarized in the company’s press release, the ATLAS trial is designed to assess the safety and effectiveness of the AltaValve system in treating patients with moderate-to-severe or severe mitral regurgitation who are unsuitable for surgery or transcatheter edge-to-edge repair. The trial is designed with two separate nonrandomized cohorts: a moderate/severe mitral annular calcification (MAC) cohort and a primary cohort of patients with no or mild MAC.
